Refuse

I was sleeping I know but I am awaken now
So I refuse to close my eyes again
You told me to take some futile vows
But I refuse to be the part of some gender game
You said I shouldn’t learn to be independent
But I refuse to lean on you for my trouble
You said there is not any way for my dreams
I say I refuse to be in the chain for my struggle

My passion my ambitions were ignored by you
So I refuse to care for your vintage customs
You barred me for the things I deserved
So I am here to gain my dignity and will blossom

It's a place where creativity is welcome in every form conceived. The tourist feels at home and the locals seem to be on the move. The young and not so young are the only distinctions of age. Concept of education, skill and livelihood can be appreciated only with liberated and open minds. It is a mini world, but out of the world.

To the Future Resident of Dorm 409

Hi, you don’t know me and probably never will, but one year ago I stood in your shoes. I was a freshman at this big school with no idea where I was going. I walked into this empty dorm with my parents by my side and cried as they left. I had no idea what my freshman year would bring, and for the first time in a long time I was completely and utterly alone. My high school friends were 1600 miles away, my parents just left, and I had yet to talk to anyone including my roommates. I would be lying if I told you the transition was painless, but believe me, it will be far easier than you think.
